Simil…An algorithim

Simil: an algorithim…I can’t tell you how many times I have searched for strings of words or phrases. So having different types of tools to do a search makes it that much more convenient. I have only used the Simil once and that was while I was reading this latest chapter. I must say that this is really cool. I have always used  “LIKE”  with wildcards to look for data and of course the “=” and who hasn’t? The author also mentions a couple of other functions that are great options for when you really need to find the data. SOUNDEX is one of the options. I went in and played around with this one it really did put together results that, to me, were pretty impressive. There is also CONTAINS and FREETEXT which I tested out worked pretty well too.

If you need to look for data and you’ve tried everything, read this chapter and you just might find what you need.

Thanks for reading our blog and have a great rest of the week.
